The Hip & Ridge is a system that typically uses a shade fabric to cover square or rectangular areas. The roof system has a ridge at its peak that connects to the corners via rafter bars (aka hips). The roof structure attaches to posts that are typically surface mounted to the ground. It is typically covered with shadecloth or vinyl fabrics. Variations can include the number and location of posts, powder coat colors and material. This standalone structure is popular for covering large outdoor areas away from a building. It is often used in parks, pools, and playgrounds. We also offer an Cantilevered Hip & Ridge structure that is more commonly used for covered parking.
